To ensure remarkably beautiful aesthetic restorations, the CS 3700 features smart-shade matching that automatically detects the enamel color of the scan area to identify the ideal match. This patented technology, known as bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF), captures actual shade values from several views, considering all angles of the scanner—unlike other systems that collect RGB values from a single view. In a single click, smart-shade matching automatically compiles a shade report with multilayer shade information for the selected area of interest, allowing users to easily share the outcome with the dental lab or referral for optimal restorative outcomes.

Users will also notice increased scanning speeds with the CS 3700—a 20 percent increase over previous Carestream Dental intraoral scanner models, in fact, that doesn’t compromise the accuracy of the datasets. Turbo speed scans have been tested and proven to scan in vitro single arches in 30 seconds when the recommended PC configuration is used.*

The CS 3700 has been prestigiously designed in collaboration with the renowned design studio Studio F. A. Porsche, the originator of the brand Porsche Design, and features the optimized curves, sleek style and ultimate comfort expected of the top-of-the-line intraoral scanner. Its ergonomically optimal grip channel empowers users with a balanced sense of scanner control, while an optional wrist strap connects the user to the scanner and prevents damage from dropping.     In cooperation with Studio FA Porsche, the handpiece of the CS 3700 intraoral scanner from Carestream Dental was designed so that it fits into the continuous operation of the digital dental practice. Together with the redesigned workflow of the ScanFlow software, it sets new standards for intraoral scanning. Like Ying and Yang or black and white, the scanner is available in Arctic White and Carbon Gray. The new patented tooth shade determination is triggered with a click. The saved color report can now be sent to the dental laboratory together with the.STL data. Insert the Turbo, the Carestream is not only 20% faster than its predecessor (CS 3600) but also processes the recorded data with a time saving of 60%.

    The newly designed software is tailor-made for the CS 3700. The intuitive touchscreen interface leaves nothing to be desired for the user. After you have recorded the basic scan of a patient, you can dynamically choose between the clinical indications restoration, implantation or orthodontics. Intraoral images, occlusion evaluation of multiple bite recordings, hybrid scans, and an uncomplicated data export are just a few examples of this really successful software.

    4 STEPS TO YOUR GOAL

    Always stay focused thanks to the guided 4-stage menu navigation:

    • Scanning: Start the intraoral scan and determine the workflow based on the indication of your patient.
    • Check: After you have carried out the scan, you can check the images and, for example, take measurements and define preparation lines.
    • Customize: Edit the scan, for example by straightening the scan edges, cleaning up the mesh or creating a simple base. With bracket removal, you can have a bracket-free model output for aligner planning.
    • Export: Save the.STL, PLY or DICOM data directly locally, or send your data sets directly from the software to your laboratory, without complicated additional software.
